Selection process of a Moonshot Pirate mentor
After the initial contact with a potential mentor, either once they apply through our website or get recommended to us otherwise, we enter the qualification stage. In order to get to know potential mentors better, we schedule a call with them to understand their background and see whether our values are aligned. This is also an opportunity to answer any questions and see which of our programs are a good fit for them. As our mentors work with minors, we also require them to submit a police record prior to our cooperation.
I am highly impressed by the bravery, resourcefulness, creativity, and dedication of my mentees. It has been a really fun, inspiring, and empowering journey so far and I am more than thankful to be able to participate in the program and to meet such great young women and men. It is more important than ever to create spaces where we all can connect and share our common humanity.
It has been an amazing experience to be a mentor at the Moonshot Pirates Bootcamp. Thanks to the program and the enthusiastic mentors, students started to question things, to think of solutions, and to act like entrepreneurs.

Intergenerational guidance is key to learning in all directions and dimensions. In giving life skill guidance, my mentees navigated being locked down while clarifying their goals, improving communication with their families, and setting personal values. These months were informative, fun, and inspiring for my mentees and me.
