In the last 20 years, the textile industry has been able to increase its production by as much as 400%. However, it also becomes apparent that the whole industry has its problems, many of which can be solved by following the SDGs outlined by the UN. Our team aims to introduce a new, sustainable approach to textile production by addressing these aspects: 1. Sustainable materials 2. Proper waste management 3. Productive efficiency We seek to lend support to developing countries by launching a self-sufficient waste management and hemp textile production system in which the amount of resources used are minimized by recycling and reusing the production waste. Our recycling centers located outside megacities, near slums, are supposed to reduce the amount of waste dumped in the landfills by using advanced recycling techniques such as Neu Pulp recycling. The leftovers (water and gas) are used to optimize the hemp textile production with the steam explosion method, which not only improves the quality of the textile, but also reduces the labor intensity. The reduction in costs makes the production more accessible to the customers, allowing for bigger changes in the market to be achieved.
