Gebre

Gebre uses the technology of cold accumulators: (recycled) plastic containers with cooling gel. This non-toxic substance minimizes the temperature that pure water requires to freeze by adding minerals, plus allows the frozen status to be maintained by the cold accumulator for periods of even 4 or 5 days (see Figure 1 and 2). We plan to create a structure of this pieces (see Figure 3) that protects the coastline of glaciers, protecting them from direct sun exposure and maintaining the cold- thanks to the cooling gel. This system would prevent the melting of glaciers and enlengthen the duration and health of glaciers all over the world.
