An algal bioreactor is a device that is used to grow micro or macro algae. Carbohydrates, proteins, and lipids/natural oils are the three primary components of algal biomass. Microalgae are the only emphasis in the algae-to-biodiesel arena because the majority of the natural oil produced by microalgae is in the form of tricylglycerol, which is the proper sort of oil for creating biodiesel. Microalgae may be utilized to create energy in a variety of ways besides biodiesel. Under certain growth circumstances, several algae species can create hydrogen gas. Algal biomass can be burnt like wood or anaerobically digested to produce methane biogas, which can be used to generate heat and power. The photosynthetic process, which is carried out by chlorophyll-containing algae utilizing dissolved carbon dioxide and solar energy, is the foundation of this type of bioreactor. To make the carbon dioxide available to the algae, it is spread throughout the reactor fluid.
